Welcome to the Gütegemeinschaft Flachglas e. V.
The Gütegemeinschaft Mehrscheiben-Isolierglas (GMI) was founded on May 7, 1982 for the purpose of quality assurance and quality monitoring of multi-pane insulating glass (MIG). At the members’ meeting on April 11, 2018, it was then decided to introduce an additional, new quality mark for heat-strengthened single-pane safety glass (ESG-HF) and to rename the quality association Gütegemeinschaft Flachglas (GGF). Every insulating and safety glass manufacturer who wants to label his product with these RAL quality marks must commit to the GGF’s quality and testing regulations.
“For us, the focus is on quality”
Jochen Grönegräs, Managing Director of GGF, briefly summarizes the most important advantages for holders of the MIG or ESG-HF quality mark in the video above. By means of the quality mark it is immediately recognizable that the product meets the high quality requirements according to RAL. MIG or ESG-HF with the RAL quality mark give planners and builders the security of having purchased a durable quality product – a product that has been thoroughly tested and meets the highest requirements. The quality mark provides the consumer with an unmistakable touchstone that offers him the necessary security for his purchase decision and protects him from unpleasant surprises in the long term. The manufacturer can thus communicate to the consumer in the simplest way possible: “For us, quality is the focus”.
